                                COOKES

Your heart stopped beating, your shining eyes now rest,

We know one day you d  leave this plain,

We never dreamt so soon, You have not gone alone

For part of us went with you,

That day you choose to move to your new home.

To some you might be forgetten

To others a part of the past

But to us who love you and appreaciate your acts of kindness,

Your loving words ,your tender touch,

Oh the laughter that we share,

We will tresure every memory of you

Even when we , our journey take,

Knowing we are never alone,

For God our Father never leaves us alone,

He holds us all in the hallow of his hands.

For the last seven years Aslyn &Me had become very close, just like when we were growing up together at the family house in Flagaman St.Elizabeth.  When he started  his last job at Daytona Sales in Kingston he came to my house to live, but  would go back to St. Elizabeth each week end just to be with Daddy.

It was great joy for both of us ,as we often behaved as we were, growing up together in the country.Aslyn would from time to time pull off some of his childhood pranks that would evoke a bellyfull of laughter. He was always coming home with a new joke and would share it in such a way that it would leave Sonia&Me in stiches. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Regardless of how sad you were he could find something to say to lighten the moment.

Aslyn was also very kind, infact too kind.He shared whatever he had with whoever was in need.Whatever you wanted to be done he would volunteer or find some one to do it.He did not say no.His  love for family & friends was incredible, an atribute i think he got from our dear Mother who predeceased him a little over elrven years ago. What great joy it must be for both of them to be holding hands in the presence of the Saviour.
